Not only does sin not give what is promised, it always leaves us worse off than before. After Amnon’s sin with his half sister Tamar, he was left hating his half sister, and even referring to her as a thing. Tamar’s life was left in ruin. She went to her brother Absalom, who now hated Amnon and plotted revenge against him.
